Reality Daily is a satirical publication. This policy is not satire. It describes, plainly and accurately, the only personal information this website collects and what happens to it.
What we collect from readers
If you subscribe to the weekly dispatch, we store your email address, a random unsubscribe token, a short label recording which page you subscribed from, and the date you subscribed. That is the entire record.
We do not collect your name, your address, or your payment details, because we do not ask readers for them. We do not run third-party ad networks and we do not run third-party trackers. We do not build profiles of readers, and we do not log the IP addresses or browser fingerprints of people who subscribe.
What we collect from advertisers
Reality Daily sells small text-only sponsored panels through the form at /advertise/. If you book one, we store the advertiser name, contact email and billing address you supply; the ad copy, destination URL and dates you booked; the amount charged; and the transaction identifier returned by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your card number, expiry, or CVV — those are tokenised in your browser by the payment processor and never reach this site.
Sponsored panels are served from our own database and carry no tracking pixels, no third-party JavaScript, and no cross-site cookies. Clicks are ordinary outbound links; we do not log them.
What we do with it
Reader email addresses are used for exactly one thing: sending you the weekly email. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share them for marketing purposes, and we will not start.
Advertiser information is used to run and account for the ad you booked and to contact you about it. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share advertiser information for marketing purposes.
Who else touches it
The following service providers necessarily handle data on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts this website and runs the subscription and ad-booking forms.
- Resend delivers the weekly email and the transactional emails sent to advertisers.
- Neon hosts the database that stores the subscriber list and the ad bookings.
- Authorize.net processes advertiser card payments on behalf of DickSoft Investments Online LLC (DSIO), the merchant of record. Advertiser card details are collected and tokenised by Authorize.net in your browser; Reality Daily never receives them.
Each processes the data only to provide that service to us. We use no other third party.
Leaving
Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately and requires no login, no reply, and no explanation. You may also write to the address below and ask to be removed, and we will remove you.
When you unsubscribe we mark the record inactive so that we do not email you again. If you would rather the row were deleted outright, ask and we will delete it.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
